Ennai Katharikkai Puli Kulambu

 

Ingredients

  • Brinjal
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Coconut
  • Curry Leaves
  • Red Chilli
  • Sesame Oil
  • Coriander Seeds
  • Cumin Seeds
  • Coriander Powder
  • Mustard Seeds
  • Fenugreek Seeds
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Asafoetida Powder
  • Chilli Powder
  • Tamarind
  • Salt

Prerequisite

  1. Cut the brinjal.
  2. Cut onion, and tomato into small pieces.
  3. Grate the coconut.

Recipe

Preparing Masala

In a tawa, take 100 g of onion, 2 tomatoes, a small amount of curry leaves, 4 red chillies, and 5 spoons of sesame oil. Saute them in oil.
Add 2 spoons of coriander seeds, 2 spoons of cumin seeds, 2 spoons of coriander powder, and a cup of grated coconut. Saute them and grind well.

Preparing Gravy

In a tawa, add 100 ml of sesame oil and let it heat.

Add 1 spoon of mustard seeds, 1 spoon of Fenugreek seeds, 2 red chillies, a little amount of curry leaves, and 50 g of onion. Saute them in oil.

Add 200 grams of brinjal, 1 spoon of turmeric powder, 1/2 spoon of asafoetida powder, 1 spoon of chilli powder, and 1 glass of tamarind water(25g of tamarind and 1 glass of water). Let them boil.
Add the prepared masala, 1 glass of water, and 2 spoons of salt. Let them boil. Once the gravy starts to boil, slow the stove and cook for 10 minutes.
