Creamy Rice Payasam- An Innovative Recipe

Ingredients

  • Rice
  • Coconut
  • Wheat
  • Cashew Nuts
  • Cardamoms
  • Raisins
  • Sago
  • Ghee
  • Jaggery

Prerequisite

  1. Grate the coconut

Recipe

Preparing Coconut Milk

Take 1 coconut and cut it into small pieces. Add those pieces of coconut into a mixer jar and grind well. Filter the coconut milk and keep it aside.

Roasting Rice

In a tawa, add 1/2 cup of rice and 1/4 cup of wheat. Roast until it reaches a golden brown colour. And grind them partially.

Cooking Rice

In a pressure cooker, pour 4 glasses of water, the grinded rice, and 2 spoons of sago. Cook this for one whistle. No need to filter the water after cooking.

Roasting Nuts

In a tawa, add 5 spoons of ghee, a cup of cashew nuts, and raisins, and roast them well.

Preparing Payasam

Transfer the cooked rice to a bowl, add a cup of jaggery, and mix well. Let it boil until the jaggery dissolves completely (approximately for 20 minutes).

Add a cup of coconut milk. Let it boil.

Add the roasted nuts, 5 spoons of ghee, and 4 cardamoms and mix well.

Serving

While serving add some grated coconut, it will increase the look and taste.
