Ingredients
- Chana Dal
- Jaggery
- Coconut
- Cardamom
- Ghee
- Maida
- Salt
- Sunflower Oil
Prerequisite
- Grate the coconut
Recipe
Cooking Chana Dal
In a pressure cooker, add 2 cups of chana dal and 1 1/2 cups of water. Cook this for 1 whistle sound.
Mashing The Dal
After cooking the chana dal, filter the water and mash them well.
Preparing Pooranam
Into the mashed chana dal, add 1 cup of jaggery and mix well. Let the jaggery dissolve completely.
Add 1/2 cup of grated coconut and mix well. Add 2 cardamoms and 3 spoons of ghee. Cook this until it reaches the consistency that allows us to make them small balls.
Preparing The Batter
Take a cup of maida, add 1 cup of water and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
Frying
Dip the Pooranam balls in the prepared maida batter and fry them in oil.
